Export a WhatsApp chat to PDF on iPhone

Step by step on iPhone

Open WhatsApp and the chat you want to save.
Tap the contact or group name at the top, scroll down and tap Export Chat.
Choose Without Media. It is smaller and faster; photos are not shown in the free version anyway.
Tap Save to Files and pick a folder you can find again, such as On My iPhone → Downloads.
Come back to this page, tap Choose file and select the exported file (a .zip or .txt).
Check the preview, then tap Download PDF. The PDF is saved to your Downloads.

Tips

Very long chats can be cut off by WhatsApp's export. Check the first date in the preview.
Open this page in Safari, not inside Instagram or another app — in-app browsers often can't save files.

Is my chat uploaded anywhere?

No. ConvoPaper reads the file inside your browser and creates the PDF on your device. After the page has loaded you can switch on airplane mode and it still works.

Can I use the PDF in court?

We can't promise that. Courts and authorities decide what they accept, and the original electronic chat usually matters most. Keep your original export file and ask a lawyer.

How do I export my chat?

Open WhatsApp and the chat you want to keep.
Tap the contact or group name at the top.
Scroll down and tap Export Chat.
Choose Without Media (smaller and faster).
Tap Save to Files, then come back here and choose that file.
